Fat Cat by Robin Brande

Cat is determined to dominate in her advanced Research Science class, and she especially hopes to tromp smug, brilliant Matt, a former friend whose betrayal years ago still stings. She is thrown for a loop when assigned an anthropology topic but spins it into a project that will change not just her body but her life. Severely overweight, Cat decides to “become prehistoric,” eating and living as similarly to early hominids as possible, with the supervision of a dietitian. As her whole-foods diet and walking routine melts the pounds and guys start treating her differently, she adapts her project to take in these observations, too.

Before high school, Cat was pretty normal. She had great grades, was on the swim team, and had friends. After an eighth grade science fair gone wrong, Cat’s life took a turn for the worse. She was betrayed by her best friend and gained a ton of weight. By the end of her Junior year, Cat found friends, love, and most importantly herself.

I thought this book was very inspiring. I loved this book alot!
Cat is a very smart teen age girl. But over the years she let herself, gaining wait and not caring about her looks. Until she got a science project that literally changed her opinions on everything. Cat starts losing wait and eating healthier, thanks to the picture of homo erectus. As her physical appearance starts to change so does her social life. Guys seem more interested in her now that she's "not fat" but all Cat can think about is Matt. Until that one rainy day at the zoo Cat is unsure of her feelings towards him.
